Effective version 1.2
What MaiSay keeps
Your account details, what you have practised and how it went, and, while the recordings switch is on, the recordings you make when you speak in the app.
Your recordings
Each recording is kept with a record of what you were asked to say, how it scored, the language you use the app in, the level you chose, and the app and device it came from. It is linked to your account, so a problem can be traced back to it. MaiSay uses them to improve scoring and to fix problems.
The switch
Settings › Your data carries one switch for recordings, and it starts on. Turning it off stops new recordings being kept from that moment. Recordings kept while it was on stay kept.
Deleting your account
Deleting the account is how kept recordings are removed. It removes every recording nothing has used yet. A recording already used for labelling or training is kept, along with what was derived from it: the labels, the reads, and the trained scorer. Your practice history and scores stay on the closed account, without your name or contact details.
How to delete it, including from outside the app, is on the account deletion page.
Resetting your progress
A reset clears your learning state and returns you to onboarding. Your account, plan, saved study sets, recordings and voice history stay.
The waitlist
Until MaiSay is in the app stores, maisay.app has a waitlist. If you join it, MaiSay keeps your email address, the language of the page you joined from, which form on the page you used, and when. It is used for one email, the day MaiSay opens. It is not used for marketing and is not shared.
To come off the list, reply to that email, or write to [email protected].
Who handles it
MaiSay, the people who label speech for it, and the services it runs on. Your recordings are not sold and are not published.
Changes to this policy
A material change raises the version of this document, and MaiSay asks you to accept the new one before you carry on.
