Delete your MaiSay account

In the app

Open Settings → Your data → Delete your account. You will be asked to sign in once more, because closing an account cannot be undone. This is the fastest way and it needs nobody's help.

If you cannot open the app

Write to [email protected] from the email address on the account, and say that you want the account closed. We answer from a person, not a robot, so it may take a few days — and we may ask you something only the account holder would know, because otherwise this address would be a way to close somebody else's account.

What closing does

Closing is permanent. There is no grace period and nothing to undo.

• Your sign-in is deleted, so every signed-in device is signed out.
• Your name, email address, phone number, birthdate, description and profile picture are removed, and so are the images the account owns.
• Your recordings that nothing has used yet are deleted. A recording already used for labelling or training is kept, and so is what was derived from it.
• Your username is released, so somebody else may take it.
• Signing in again afterwards starts a new account. It does not reopen the closed one, and nothing from it comes back.

What is kept

The account's own row survives without any of the above on it. Other records point at it: lessons taken, attempts and their scores, and the recordings already used for labelling or training. Removing it outright would break them. What is left carries no name and no contact details, though a kept recording is still a recording of a voice.
